Our Story: Crafted with Grit and Gratitude
My journey into leatherwork began in 2018, born from a frustration with the lack of quality and craftsmanship in mass-produced goods. As the spouse of a retired military veteran, I understand the value of gear that doesn’t quit when the work gets tough. What started as a personal quest for better gear has grown into a dedicated craft rooted right here in the heart of Idaho.
Life in the Saddle
I don’t just make tack; I use it. When I’m not at the bench, you’ll find me out riding my mule and horses or dabbing in the fast-paced world of cowboy mounted shooting. This hands-on experience allows me to design gear that actually works for the rider. I know exactly where tack might rub or how a holster needs to sit for a clean draw because I’ve been there myself.
The Tools of the Trade
Every piece at Mystic Leather Goods is built to be an heirloom, crafted with a blend of American history and modern industrial strength:
Hand-Crank Precision: Most of my stitching is done on a Tippmann Boss or my 103-year-old Singer long-arm shoe patcher. By using manual, hand-cranked machines, I maintain total control over every stitch—something high-speed electric motors can’t always match.
Industrial Strength: For perfectly consistent cuts, I rely on my Weaver Master Tool clicker press.
All-American Roots: I am committed to using All-American made tools and sourcing as many domestic materials as possible to support the craftsmen who support our way of life.
I believe a craftsman never stops learning, which is why I’m constantly taking advanced classes to refine my techniques. Whether it's custom chaps, punchy tack, saddle or a wallet, you’re getting a piece of gear built with the discipline of a veteran family and the heart of a true horsewoman.
